“Auntie Markovnikov” left this in a comment last weekend, and I thought it deserved highlighting in a post of its own: Organic Process Research & Development had a review article in its October issue on “Preparation, Properties, and Safe Handling of Commercial Organolithiums: Alkyllithiums, Lithium sec-Organoamides, and Lithium Alkoxides,” by Terry “Li” Rathman of t-Links Consulting and James Schwinderman of RohnerChem (DOI: 10.1021/op500161b). It seems very thorough and well worth reading, whether you use organolithium compounds at the lab or industrial scale.
