At Artful Science, C&EN Editor Sarah Everts peers in to the laboratories that help museums and galleries study everything from spacesuits to Picasso masterpieces. Coverage spans the authentication, conservation and restoration of art and artifacts; pointers to articles on cultural heritage science within C&EN and beyond; interviews with people who do this science; and spot reporting from conferences.
Sarah Everts started looking for artifacts as a kid in the alleys and gardens of her hometown of Montreal, Canada, but these days she reports on cultural heritage science from Berlin, Germany. In between she pursued a B.Sc. in biophysics, a masters in chemistry and a master of journalism. As C&EN’s European correspondent, she covers molecular science across the continent, and writes frequently about chemical biology, the biochemistry of plants and microbes, and environmental science.
