I'm afraid I don't know, Hugh. From where did you get the address? The Virgin Earth website does seem curiously devoid of any useful contact information.

I tried to submit a design by hand to 120 Campden Hill Road, Kensington, London only to find the offices abandoned. Is this a Scam or have they moved?

Regardless what anyone says. Any direction forward to solve World issues, such as Global Warming, is a step in the right direction. In most cases what is started does not resemble the finish result and many other discoveries are made along the way. Really its the things that just happen in life that have the most meaning, rather than to forcefully make it happen. To sit idle is a waste.

Interested to hear that they are proposing to further some of the entries. Perhaps there are some good ideas in submitted that need research dollars thrown at them. It's a hard thing to take an idea and get people to fund 4 years of research... The VEC is a chance for the ordinary (read: not wealthy) person to have an extraordinary idea and make it work.

The “...removal of anthropogenic, atmospheric greenhouse gases [will not] ... contribute materially to the stability of Earth’s climate,” because climate is by nature dynamic and ever changing. It is absurdly arrogant to suggest that gases produced by human activity will have any meaningful effect on climate. The Virgin Earth Challenge is just another facet of the on-going global warming scam.
